Circles are better than rows

At Wilbarger Street, we want you to find a place to connect on a personal level. We feel that we are all better when we do life together. With that in mind, we challenge everyone who attends, whether guests or regular attenders, to find ways to connect within our church family. This can be done in a number of ways: personally in a relationship with Christ, publicly through baptism, or by getting involved in one of our many ministry and and service opportunities.

Below you will find some links that will help provide more information on the the next steps of baptism and membership or you can head over to our ministries page for a closer look at some of our volunteer opportunities.

Baptism is a serious step in the life of a believer. It not only is a cleansing from sin, but also a close identification with Christ. Of course, there is no power in the water, the power is in a person's faith that God is connecting them to the cleansing blood of Christ through their expression of faith. It is an infusion of God's grace and a powerful outward sign of a person's relationship to Jesus. By it, one publicly proclaims their identity with Christ rather than with the world. Baptisms can take place during or after any assembly (worship service) or at another time that is more convenient.

Understanding is a biblical prerequisite to being baptized. We have provided a document that can give you more information about  or we would love to talk to you about it in person.

Membership at Wilbarger St is a very important step of commitment. Although membership is not required to be an active part of our church fellowship, it solidifies your partnership and cooperation with our church. Membership is where you declare to other members that you are a part of the team.

We ask of our members only what scripture asks of church members: faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, love for one another, a willingness to follow Christ’s teachings, and Christian baptism (Matthew 28:18-20). At Wilbarger St, we practice baptism by immersion and if you have never been immersed in baptism as a believer, you will have the opportunity to do so.

Please contact Bryan Nix in our church office (940-552-5437) to talk further about your baptism or about placing your church membership with us.
