Wilbarger St  youth

The Wilbarger St. Youth is a growing group of young people with a passion and desire to learn more and grow closer to God. Realizing we don't have all the answers, we come together for classes and devotionals to grow in our knowledge of God's word. We often get together just to hang out and have fun. We are a group that is constantly active both in school and church activities.

Our events are not closed to anyone, including parents and members. No matter what the reason for getting together, we always have a great time and seek to glorify God in all that we do. Our youth group is defined by Christ's call in Mark 8:34: "If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me." Though we may not be called to physically die for Christ today, we are called to pick up our cross. We are called to give ourselves completely over to God, dying to our own will so that His will might be realized in our lives.

Spoken Word

Spoken Word, in this format, was first done at Mountain View Christian Camp this past summer on Thursday night. It was a time full of grace and power as God’s word was spoken to the hearts of his people. This is the experience we want to bring to our church family. Letting our ears and hearts be open as God’s word is proclaimed out of the mouth of his people.

On February 23rd we will meet and each bring a song or scripture that has greatly impacted our lives. There is no formal led worship, but each individual will share what he or she has brought. During this time we ask that no one expound upon what they are sharing, that they simply let the words speak for themselves. We also ask that each individual that brings a scripture would try to limit it to 10 verses or less, so that we can have time for everyone to share what they would like. The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. and afterwards there will be a dinner for those that would like to stay and fellowship. Our hope is that each of you will choose to participate, no matter your age, background, or gender. God’s Word is powerful and accomplishes that which it sets out to do. This is a time to allow the Word of God to work on our hearts and in our lives.
